Mini Cooper City Review – MINI has always been one of the most popular car brands, known for its beautiful and fun cars since its inception in 1969.
Their cars are instantly recognisable, and even if someone has no idea about the British brand, you’re likely to hear them say, “Wow, that’s a smart car!”

This 5-door is the brand’s entry-level version of the MINI family, and now has a modern design to boast of. The question is, is it an attractive option for customers looking for a practical MINI?
Mini Cooper Se Review: First Drive
The exterior remains unchanged, although there are minor design changes. The overall face of the design is very minimal and clean, although it has a modern redesign, this car still retains the signature MINI design that people love.
Most of the design changes focus on the front, the car now sports a large front grill with a black finish. Also gone are the fog lights, replaced by slim vertical intakes.
Customization is at the forefront of MINI’s identity, allowing customers to customize their cars to their liking. This test unit comes with 17-inch two-tone alloy wheels, one of 9 available rim options.
This particular paint option is called ‘Island Blue’, one of the many bright and exciting colors that MINI offers its cars.
Mini Countryman: Pros And Cons Review
For storage, you get 278 liters of boot space and the option of a flat boot floor. Adequate for this class of car, but the narrowness can cause problems when trying to transport larger items. The seats can also be folded in a 60:40 ratio if you need more space for adventurous furniture drivers.
They look the same, but the 5-door model is actually longer than its 3-door sibling. The result is a slightly larger body, which may not seem like much, but in a small car, a little more counts!
MINI has focused most of its attention on the interior during one phase, and the result is a very good room.

The front seats are really comfortable and give you good support to keep you in place when cornering. In addition, Chester’s fine leather upholstery and sport seats come standard!
Mini 2011 Review
It’s so good, in fact, that the only way you can tell this is an entry-level model is that you don’t get power seat controls.
The mainstay of the battle is a meaty and confident steering wheel that feels good in the hands and has simple function buttons that are easy to understand.
Although this base model does not have paddle shifters. Offered only in the most beautiful and high-end Cooper S.
After this beauty, the device part looks unique. It’s not completely digital, but it gives the illusion that it is. MINI has done a great job hiding the analog tachometer.
Mini Electric Review
The one on the left is your standard gauge, but the one on the right is your fuel gauge, and it’s by far the biggest fuel gauge we’ve ever come across. You’ll never have to worry about forgetting to refill again.
The central display is a responsive 8.8-inch screen. You still get traditional buttons and rotary dials to work with. This means that you can easily change the tone of this car and you don’t need to constantly tint the glass like other cars.
You get wireless Apple CarPlay, but not Android Auto. If you’re one of the people who got their hands on the new iPhone 13, you’re in luck.
However, even if you’re rocking an Android phone, you still get local navigation and maps in this car. It’s becoming increasingly rare for new cars these days, and it’s a welcome addition to the One.
Mini Cooper S 5 Door Review
Although the front of the MINI One is really comfortable, the same cannot be said for the rear. This is a setback after all.
The car has “three” seats and even has three seat belts. But the middle seat should be used only in emergency situations. You do not get any legroom due to the raised center console, which means that the middle man will have to awkwardly occupy the legs of the other two rear passengers.
So, while you can carry 4 people in this car, it’s best to stick to 2-seaters most of the time.
Don’t expect a big jump from such a car, as it only has 101 hp and 190 Nm of torque, all of which are sent to the front wheels. But even with “non-hot” heat, this car still does a respectable job off the line.
Mini Cooper Se Review: The Urban Ev
You have three drive modes – Sport, Mid and Eco – mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox. The overall package is responsive, moving smoothly through the gears.
One thing that is really nice is the steering wheel, which is well weighted regardless of driving style. It gives you a go-kart feel and you can really feel the car as you drive through the curves. However, if you like a light steering feel without weight, the MINI may not be your cup of tea.
While it’s a fun car to corner, it’s not the same story at high speed as the steering feel. This can make you feel anxious when you are in the fast lane of the highway.
The sports suspension works well with the steering wheel and is more comfortable than the previous model, where one of the biggest complaints was its notoriously stiff ride.

The car is an absolute breeze to park due to its size. To make life even easier, the car is equipped with a rearview camera and parking sensors.
Fuel economy is also decent. We drove for several days, averaging 9.5L/100km.
Although admittedly cramped in the back, this is still a 5-door MINI. This means your passengers don’t need to shape their bodies to get into the back seats, unlike conventional 3-door models.
Review: Mini 5 Door Cooper S, Going The Mainstream Way
MINI even offers an app where you can manage the car’s functions remotely. The instructions are not quick, but you can perform tasks such as opening doors without using the key fob. Plus, the app even updates the car’s last known location so you always know where your car is!
The MINI app also allows future destinations to be pre-programmed and sent remotely to your car. When you start the car, click on the notification and the navigation system will enter the saved location.
If you want a classic premium hatchback, you can go for the Audi A3, BMW 1 Series or Mercedes A-Class. But if you want something special, something that stands out from the crowd, something blue in a sea of red, then this MINI could be for you.
It’s like when you buy a new phone, you skip the standard black or white and go for a bright color option. You choose it because it looks unique; it looks cool.

Mini is a car brand. It goes with the likes of Porsche 911 and Volkswagen Beetle, Land Rover Defender or even Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen.
